Japanese Cuisine Sagami

Sagami (日本料理 さがみ) is a Japanese cuisine restaurant located in 3-minute walk from Okubo Station. This restaurant is in behind the alley which is a bit hard to understand the location.
There is a small square shaped signboard at the entrance of an ordinary house with letter “Sasami”. It is a small restaurant with 5 counter seats but very cheap and delicious Japanese cuisine restaurant.
It is a recommended restaurant from the owner of a Chinese restaurant where YOKOSO Shinjuku staff often go.

Customer: What’s on menu today?
Shop owner: It’s Kinmedai (Red Snapper).

While doing such a conversation, when you order your cuisine from Sashimi, Nizakana (boiled fish), Yakizakana (grilled fish), Tempura etc., a shopkeeper who is close to 80 years old starts cooking.
There is only 1600 yen Set Meal for both day and night menu. In additional to main dish, it comes with Chawanmushi (steamed egg custard) or Odawara no kamaboko (Fish-paste loaf), Oshinko (Pickles), Misishiru (Miso soup), Gohan (Rice), Garnish etc.

After 1 o’clock is recommended for daytime.
