“Pamkkale(東京 トルコ料理パムッカレ)” is an ethnic restaurant where you can enjoy “Turkish cuisine”. It is referred to as one of the three great cuisines of the world.
This time I (Matsuo) would like to introduce you to this restaurant because I think it is the best among Turkish cuisine restaurants of the ones I have been to so far.
In the past I loved to eat meat but from about 6 years ago, I have been thinking about refraining meat and try to take a lot of fish and vegetables. Since the Turkish cuisine has many dishes that use vegetables, yogurt, cheese, which is a very healthy option and perfect for me too!
Muslim people are forbidden to eat pork meat and alcohol (depending on the country). For that reason, in order to respond customers from the Islamic country, the number of the restaurant offering Halal menu has recently increased in Shinjuku and Halal seems to be spreading.
Halal refers to what is permissible or lawful in traditional Islamic law. It is frequently applied to permission food and drinks. The opposite of halal is haram, which means unlawful or prohibited.
The Halal Certification is recognition that the products are permissible under Islamic law. Halal meat follows particulars such as, the sources of the meat, how the animals are slaughtered, presentation and storage, utilization of goods, labeling, clean processes and hygiene, etc.
Since this restaurant is a Halal certificate restaurant, people from Islamic country can visit and enjoy a meal with a peace of mind. That is the reason, a large number of Muslim faith visit this restaurant.
Food, decorations, recipes and seasoning reproduce this authentic Turkish feel. The dishes of this restaurant are arranged healthy by reducing oily and salt with the preference of the restaurant owner.
The recommended dish is called “Zensai no moriawase (MIX HORS D`OEUBER)”, which comes with pilaf of green pepper and 6 kinds of Ezume (paste) including chick peas, spinach, yogurt, vegetables, etc. seasoned with spices and yogurt.
This dish is gentle on the stomach and it is also the best match for an alcoholic drink!
t is a Turkish style to eat together with “Ekmek”, which is the handmade bread of Turkey.
You will serve a freshly baked Ekmek, which comes in a large round size!
“Pot-Boiled Shrimps”, which is the shrimp, vegetables and cheese, stewed in tomato sauce, tasted like a Japanese Shrimp Gratin.
Here you can also enjoy Turkish dessert “Semolina with nuts in syrup”.
There are also plenty of meat dishes including kebab of chicken, beef, mutton and much more for meat-lovers to enjoy.
There is a special lunch menu only on Saturday and Sunday, which will cost from 1,080 yen to 1,500 yen.
You can also enjoy Belly dance show every Friday and Saturday from 8:30 pm.
(There is also a service of belly dancing show with reservations of more than 10 people.)
Why don’t you also visit and enjoy the belly dancing while having a lovely Turkish meal?
