There are many restaurants with a terrace, on the road in front of the Gyoen that parallels with Shinjuku dori.
In Europe, eating and drinking on the terrace is very common place, however, the terrace restaurant in Japan has only become more popular within the past few years.
Today, I will introduce you my favorite restaurant!
It is a cafe restaurant called “AUREOLE (オリオール)”, located about 2 min. distance from Shinjuku Gyoen Okido gate by walk. There are a lot of flowers in front of the restaurant which gives you a good impression.
You can choose a dish from 5 types of weekly lunch menu which consist of wrap dish, pizza, 2 types of pasta and brown rice.
The wrap dish of this restaurant is a wrap sandwich which is made by wrapping vegetables, meat and brown rice in a thin skin kneaded made with spinach. Plenty of vegetables and very healthy! Wrap Lunch menu costs from 980 yen.
Compared to the area around Shinjuku station, this area is characterized by many unique restaurants that have a matured atmosphere. Please visit once!
