Hello! I am Huong from Vietnam (a foreign student). Today I would like to introduce a Vietnamese cafe called “Egg Coffee”, located in Okubo. This cafe has opened from March 2017.
I think there are various Vietnamese cafes, but the reason for its popularity is that you can enjoy the real and authentic taste of Vietnam. The price is also reasonable and delicious too!
When we visited the cafes, there were many Vietnamese customers inside the store, but not only Vietnamese, many other foreigners and Japanese customers are increasing visiting.
There are also abundant varieties of drink menu.
The recommended is “Egg Coffee”, which has been drunk for a long time in Hanoi, Northern Vietnam. It is a traditional drink which is prepared with egg yolks, sugar, condensed milk and robusta coffee. It seems that it was born by using yolk of whipped eggs in 1950 when there was a serious shortage of milk.
Especially my favorite is ‘BÁNH TRÁNG TRỘN (Rice Paper Salad)’. This is not a drink, it is a food! It made from a mixture of chopped rice paper with beef jerky and eggs. It is very interesting and delicious.
This cafe has also been introduced on a Japanese TV channel called NHK.
Here you can also enjoy some light dishes while having a drink.
