The Only Café Where You Can Sip Drinks Right Next to Godzilla
A towering 12-meter-tall “Godzilla Head” has become an unmistakable landmark in Shinjuku’s Kabukicho district, perched atop the Toho Building. Inside the Hotel Gracery Shinjuku, which occupies floors 8–30 of the building, you’ll find a unique café experience unlike anywhere else.
In May 2024, the former “Café Terrace Bonjour” was reborn as the GRACERY LOUNGE. Inspired by the concept of “leisurely weaving your time within the hotel,” this elegant space offers a calm, sophisticated atmosphere—perfect for unwinding and escaping the city’s hustle and bustle.
Located on the 8th floor alongside the hotel’s front desk, the GRACERY LOUNGE features a terrace where you can sip coffee or cocktails while gazing directly at the Godzilla Head. It’s a special experience that you can only enjoy here.
Original Godzilla-Themed Menu
For a truly memorable drink, try one of the café’s original beverages that capture the spirit of the Godzilla films. The “Charcoal Peach Lemonade” (1,573 yen) pays homage to the first film in the series, “Godzilla” (1954). Meanwhile, the “Blue Curacao Soda” (1,573 yen) evokes the world of the latest installment, “Godzilla Minus One.” Both feature beautifully crafted Godzilla designs that are almost too striking to drink.
If you’re craving something sweet, don’t miss the “Godzilla vs. Mothra Pancake Island Showdown”—a playful dish inspired by the 1992 film “Godzilla vs. Mothra.” The pancakes are topped with whipped cream and a dramatic black sesame lava sauce, plus chocolate “lava stones” and an eye-catching Godzilla chocolate alongside a vibrant Mothra cookie.
The single dish costs 3,146 yen, and the drink set is 3,509 yen. It’s as photogenic as it is delicious—perfect for fans and foodies alike!
A Sophisticated Space for Evening Relaxation
In the evenings, the lounge transforms into a sophisticated bar, offering a refined atmosphere ideal for business meetings or an elegant night out.
Enjoy beautifully crafted cocktails inspired by the seasons, unique craft gin infused with Japanese ingredients like Hidaka kombu and sansho pepper, and rare Japanese whiskies. All this while taking in the glittering night views of Shinjuku.
Taking a photo on the terrace with the Godzilla Head in the background is guaranteed to boost your social media feed! And with different moods by day and night, you’ll always find something new to enjoy here. Seasonal limited-time menus are also offered throughout the year, so be sure to check them out.
Keep in mind: starting June 1, 2025, the lounge will only accept cashless payments (excluding transit IC cards). So plan ahead for your visit!
